Cranberry Sauce is a classic accompaniment to holiday meals, adding a burst of tartness and sweetness to savory dishes. It is very easy and quick to prepare with either frozen or fresh cranberries and can be made in advance.
Put the water, orange juice and sugar to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil on medium high heat.
Add cranberries, bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes more until cranberries start to pop.
Remove from heat, sprinkle orange zest if desired and let cool to room temperature, transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
