Greek Fried Feta with Honey and Sesame Seeds

Ingredients
  

  • 1  block feta, (5oz-150g) , cut into triangles
  • 1/3 cup  (40g) flour
  • 2 oz (60g) sesame seeds
  • 1 egg , beaten
  • 1/4 cup (60g) olive oil , for frying
  • honey , to drizzle on top

Instructions
 

  • Cut the feta block into two smaller pieces, rectangles or triangles.
  • Prepare three plates, one with flour, one with sesame seeds and one with the beaten egg.
  • Dredge the feta pieces into flour.
  • Dip into the beaten egg. Make sure to cover all sides.
  • Coat with sesame seeds.
  • Heat about ¼ cup (60g) olive oil in a frying pan.
  • Place the feta pieces into the pan and fry until golden brown.
  • Flip and fry the other side and edges.
  • Drain on paper towels to remove any excess oils.
  • Serve while still hot with a drizzle of honey.

Notes

If you don't want to fry the feta cheese, you may also consider baking it. For this, preheat the oven to 400F (200C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
