How to make cream cheese banana bread.

The recipe for this banana bread is really easy and quick to prepare. First, you need to have about 2 medium ripe bananas that you can simply mash with a fork.

For the banana cake batter, you don’t need special utensils, a whisk and a bowl are just enough. Mix egg with both white and brown sugar, add butter, vegetable oil, sour cream and vanilla. Mix in banana puree and incorporate dry ingredients. It is really quick and ready in a matter of minutes. For the banana batter, I like to use both butter and oil for this recipe. The oil for extra moisture and butter for its great flavor.

Once the banana batter is prepared, quickly mix the cream cheese filling ingredients. Pout about two-thirds of the banana batter into a parchment paper-lined loaf pan. Add the cream cheese filling and cover with the remaining banana batter. Swirl with a knife.

At this point, if you like, you can add walnuts or pecans on top of the cake to add more texture and flavor.

Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool before slicing it.

  1. Can you use almond flour instead of all-purpose flour?

You can try.. But I would also add at least a bit of wheat flour.

  2. 5 stars
PLEASE make this right now!! I made it last night. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, and the contrast of textures was divine. My loaf pan is made of glass and it took 1h 20m to bake fully. Next time I will try to bake it at 350 to reduce the time.

I would like to change it up a bit.
Can we use whole wheat flour instead of AP flour?
What substitutions with honey or maple syrup instead of the sugars?

    1. Ella - Home Cooking Adventure Author says:

Yes, you can use whole wheat flour and use honey/maple syrup instead of sugar. You can see this banana bread I’ve made here, with honey and oat flour and almond flour instead of wheat flour. My daughters love and make it pretty often for school. Hope you will try it too. https://fit-and-happy.news/healthy-gluten-free-banana-bread/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
